I know when something has to be done… you just need to do it.
But this sweet old girl… she has made it hard for me.
She has been on the decline for several years now - but I knew a couple months ago when she began to loose weight that we were coming to the end. She was a beautiful mix of Alaskan Malamute and Sheppard… always a puppy at heart, good natured, but with an independent streak.
These pictures are typical of her… resting on her porch with an easy grin on her face. She did not like having her picture taken… does it show? LOL
She was 15… and I’ll be missing her a bunch.

ah shucks. That's always a tough time. I'll be thinking of you.
That's the only bad thing (I think) about loving a dog. Hoping 15 years of memories ease the ache.
Oh Cheryl, I am so sorry. What a sweet dog she was. Do you need me to bring my big fat shoulder over there, for you to cry on?
I will!!
I hope Toot can handle the lonely, too. She's lost an old pal, too.
xxoo

Oh, no. (((HUGS))) I'm so sorry. Fuzzy kiddos really take hold of your heart, don't they? I know you are thankful you go to love him for as long as you did.
My deepest sympathy! I am trying very hard to be practical myself at the moment but to find the right moment is so difficult. Thinking of you
It's been over a year and I still feel like I'm missing a body part. I'm so, so sorry about your sweet old furry friend. Some tears were shed for you in Massachusetts today my dear.
So sorry, Cheryl. It's a difficult time. He will be with you in spirit.
I once read a quote and it was something like this-
"Dogs lives are so short out of compassion for their human owners. Because if a dog lived as long as humans do- it would literally destroy us when they died."
I always think of this at times like this- because of the unconditional love they give every moment of the day...
I have shed my tears for y'all... she will be missed.
I love you.
Thanks everyone for the kind words... it's been a long weekend but I appreciate knowing my friends were thinking of me.
Always, Cheryl
Just read this about your beloved pet. So sorry.
